My dearest Gladys, aka Mrs Douce.
Thank you for all your Love and Support when I was a young woman, growing up with small children. You were always there for me and we spent precious times together at Trinity Rise in Tulse Hill and before that in Deronda Road. Family gatherings and being spoilt with your fine cooking. You and Mr Douce will always hold a special place in my heart. I was devastated when you all moved to Australia but I’m so glad to see that you lived a rich a full life with your family close by. Rest in Eternal Peace.
God Bless you and Keep you.
All my Love, Sandy 💗 🙏🏽 x

The most beautiful woman who welcomed all her children’s friends and their siblings, I was one of those siblings. Gladys I always felt safe and comfortable in your home whenever I visited, you and B were the home away from home family. The memories of you when I was a child and a young woman, are all beautiful.

I met Gladys through Jackie and Nikki. We all attended the same school. I was welcomed into the family with love. Gladys was so easy to speak to and easy to confide in. She held so many of our secrets, wink-wink. I’ll say no more. She was a wonderful mother and friend.
Today I honour Gladys, a beautiful soul whose love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel warmer and harder days feel easier. Through her care, strength, and presence, she left a lasting mark on the lives of her family and friends. While we grieve her final journey home, we also celebrate the life she lived ~ filled with compassion and devotion. You will never be forgotten. With much love always.

Nan was only 36 when I was born, the first of her seven grandkids. She was like a second mum to all of us.
There are so many great memories of Weekends spent at her house. She took such joy in spoiling us, making sure we had everything we wanted. It was a place where the word “no” barely existed. She had this selfless way of putting our needs above her own because that’s who she was.
Nan welcomed our partners into the family, as her own grandkids and gave them the same love without hesitation.
her greatest gift to me was her acceptance. Nan belonged to a different generation, one with different traditions and beliefs. Yet, her love for us was always bigger than any religious script. She accepted us for who we were and who we chose to love.
Daniel, couldn’t be here today, but wanted to thank Nan for the way she embraced him and our relationship. Even when it would have challenged her original perspective, she accepted us.
Losing her has left a massive hole in our heart but as much as it hurts, we are so incredibly blessed for having her in our lives, & will carry her love with us forever.
