I write this with a heavy heart.
It was an honor to know you Con. And a privilege to be your Care Advisor. You will be deeply missed by everyone who knew you.
I often think of you and will always cherish the memory sitting at the dining table and listening to you talk. I will always remember your cheekiness, jokes, your lovely blue eyes and the laughter we shared.
I loved listening to your stories about your family, friends Mauritius and your garden.
I didn’t look at you as a client Con but as a father. As you have the same characteristics of a strong man like my dad. And I’d always say Con you remind me of my dad with some of the things you said and you would laugh.
You were too kind, every time I visited you would offer me a cup of tea or coffee, at times I didn’t feel like a cuppa but I’d say I’d love a cuppa just to watch you get up and make it for me with so much love then you would give me fruit from your garden. And you would make sure Hortance packed it for me.
You loved your family and you were forever grateful to them for everything they did.
You were so proud of your grandchildren and great grand daughter and loved showing me photos even tho you had showed me the same pictures every time I visited.
You showed me a lot of love Con and I am forever grateful to have met you.
You always remembered to get me something for Christmas and waited for me to visit you. Sometimes even call me and say hello stranger when are you coming to see me, just so you could give me my Christmas gift.
Con you leave behind not just memories, but a sense of belonging that I will forever cherish.
RIP Con you are free from pain.
Stephanie
Papa,
There are no words to express the grief I am feeling knowing that you are no longer with us. It is difficult to comprehend that tomorrow we will be saying goodbye to you for the final time.
I am so grateful for the times that we shared, the memories that we made and all the laughs you had given me.
Your resilience, strength and love for me and for our family is what keeps me going, and to hear you say in your final days that you are proud of me has given me so much strength throughout this time of despair.
My heart is broken, but knowing that you are finally at peace and that you will be watching over us has brought me some comfort as I know you are no longer in pain.
I will forever cherish our time together, the love you had for Mimi and myself, and for every moment that we had spent with you.
It is an honour to be your granddaughter.
You will be forever missed and forever loved, and I will always carry you with me throughout the rest of my life.
Rest in Peace Papa, I love you so much.
Love always and forever,
Stephanie and Mia
