Bernie you have been part of our life for 47 years, first meeting as Camberwell neighbours then progressing to lifelong friends.
We’ve shared the happiest and saddest times.
You typified the “old school value” that a happy life is not something we are owed but rather something we create.
We will miss your sunny personality with your cheeky chuckle.
Together now with with your soulmate, Pat forever.
    RIP Bernie.
Much love Carmel and Shayne and our sincere condolences to Paul, Fran, Poppy, Daisy, David and the extended Doherty family.

Very saddened to belatedly hear Bernie had passed away. First met Dohertys when I was delivering medication to Pat for Strathdale Pharmacy in Bendigo. After Pat passed away I developed a relationship with Bernie & I’d regularly pick him up for a coffee at one of the local cafes, thoroughly enjoyed our chats & time together. God bless you Bernie. A valued mate.
