Paula and I send our sincere condolences to Zarina, Gavin, Duncan and Vanessa and the entire Herbert Family.

Bob and I have been friends since 1950 when we met at St Joseph’s School in Bangalore; we were in the same class. Bob taught me to shoot with a catapult and we had many excursions along the roadsides shooting at various ‘targets’.

I will always remember what a nice guy he was. He had a knack of telling a joke… and they were numerous! I recall the many trips we made to the lake on the Madras Road and the laughter. I thank Bob for being guarantor for me and my family when we migrated to Australia from the U.K. and for welcoming and helping us during the first few weeks of our arrival.

I will miss my Brother in Law and Friend Bob but the Memories will not fade.

Our love and best wishes – our thoughts are with you.

(Due to the current conditions we are unable to attend the funeral as we now live in Queensland).

Bob, Rest In Peace your suffering is now over. Be at peace.

    Xerxes & Paula.

IN MEMORY OF A SPECIAL BROTHER BOB
Today is full of memories of a brother laid to rest. And every single one of them is filled with happiness. For you were someone special, always such a joy to know. And there was so much pain when it was time to let you go. That’s why this special message is sent to heaven above, for the angels to take care of you and give you all my love.

Dearest Zarina, Gavin, Duncan, Vanessa & your families,
Our deepest condolences & Love to you all! We have so many precious memories of Bobby. Every time we came to Melbourne, there was Bobby welcoming us with open arms, a great big smile and a generous & loving heart. Not forgetting all the mischievous stories that we got up to as young men!
And a very special birth date that he shared with our Vanessa – every year (without fail) he would make sure he was the first one to call and they would wish eachother, laugh and chat about what they would be doing on their b’days.
He was such a special person to all that had the privilege to know him.
He had accomplished his destiny on earth and is now in Jesus’ loving arms. No more pain. Bobby is resting peacefully, surrounded by all the angels.
We will never forget him. A wonderful husband, father, brother, best friend and God’s finest gentleman.
    Forever in our hearts
    All Our Love Always

I will cherish the great memories of all my time with Bob and you all from the age of 8 yo I was fortunate enough to go camping and hang with your family and Bob never treated me as a kid but spoke to me like a mate and I will always remember him for that! When ever I would see him we would continue conversations from years past and it was like I had just seen him yesterday! So many wonderful memories that will keep Bob alive in me and I encourage you all to celebrate this wonderful man’s life remembering the beautiful happy memories… God bless you Bob and love and prayers to Zarina, Gavin, Duncan, Vanessa and families during this sad and challenging time.
