I was the Van Driver at the Retirement Village where Rick lived.
Rick was very enthusiastic and eagerly awaited the weekly outings. He enjoyed sitting in the front passenger seat so he could point out all of the places he was fond of and tell a story or two.
It meant alot to Rick if he could go for a brisk walk at our destination and he was always thrilled if we stopped along the way for a McDonalds icecream.
I will remember Rick for his (very) cheeky stories, great smile and extreme gratitude and pleasure at being able to take a walk in the fresh air.

My darling Rick, my life will never be the same without you. I held your hand and you peacefully slipped away. We had lots of fun and I have so many treasured memories – of the good times and the not so good.
Rest In Peace, my darling- the suffering is over. Barbara
