I first met Elli back in 1994 in a Glenroy Karate dojo he had come to visit. It wasn’t until a year later when I moved to Doveton in the other side of Melbourne that he became a true inspiration, to me personally. Taking a young 18year old teenager under his wing inspiring me to achieve my black belt under the noble park eagles. The years that he spent with unending patience and understanding I’ll never forget. Their was no greater moment than when in 1998 Sensei Elli awarded me my Bushido cross. Not many will understand the bond between student and teacher. To me Elli you were a friend, advisor, mentor, and brother. I shall never forget the lessons you taught me over the 25+ years that we knew each other . Thank you for all you gave rest in piece, your student always.

Elie was a peaceful man, always willing to pass on his knowledge. I started training with him when he started at Moorleigh high school and continued to cross paths. He will always be remembered as a caring nonjudgmental peaceful sole may he Rest In Peace.

    Dear Aunty Jan
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all of the family in this emotional and difficult time.
Uncle Elie at family gatherings was always quick witted with any discussion and most often you never knew if he was having you on.
He was always very dedicated to causes he felt strongly about and this showed passionately whenever he spoke to you about them, this passion also extended to martial arts of which Shane and he would be in constant comparisons.
Take strength and support from family and friends, our love and thoughts are with you.

Thinking of you Mrs Laz, Ali and all your family. I can still hear his deep, cheeky middle eastern voice when he greeted us. A very sad time for you all. May he show everyone up there some of his high kicks and ‘kung fu’ moves!!
