To My Dad
I still can’t believe you’re no longer here. I will no longer hear you say, “Hi Darling” when I walk in the door. But I will forever remember the last words you said to me, “Nic, I’m just going to go lie down.”
The house feels so different without you in it -quieter, emptier. You always kept to yourself, but I always felt your presence, steady and reassuring. Now, even though you’re no longer physically with us, your love surrounds us in every corner.
I miss you deeply. I find comfort in knowing you’re safe now, cared for in heaven, watching over us with that gentle, caring smile.
I love you so much, Dad.

A Tribute to My Uncle and loving Godfather
Today, I honor the memory of a man who meant so much to me — my uncle, whose sudden passing has left a space in my live that words can barely describe.
He was more than just family — he was a source of strength, wisdom, and warmth. Whether through his stories, his laughter, or his quiet support, he had a way of making me feel seen and cared for. His presence brought comfort, and his absence is deeply felt.
What hurts the most is how sudden it all was — no time for goodbyes, no final words. But even though he’s gone, the memories he gave me, the love he shared, and the lessons he taught will stay with me.
Uncle, thank you for everything. You may be gone from my sight, but never from my heart. I will carry your spirit with me in my actions, my stories, and your love for me.
Rest in Peace
will miss you so much
Till we meet again 🫰❤️

Uncle Dougie , you were ahead of your time embracing Lip Sync Battle long before it was a thing! Remembering the days when Jerry Lee Lewis “Great Balls of Fire” was on the record player and you were lip synching while playing the keyboard. The cousins in the background as your backup singers/dancers and that signature laugh from Aunty Shirl as we all enjoyed the evening more so because of your “life of the party energy”. Ill never forget you showing me my first magic trick as I was so intrigued on how you could make your opal ring change colour. Those immortal words with a serious face that I blindly trusted “Joey, pull my finger”…… 🤣🤣what a legacy! Love you and sending my love to all xx❤️

Douglas thank you for welcoming into your family . You always made me feel part of the family whenever we met . I enjoyed our conversation at the family dinner on Saturday nights and talking about how you went on the horses that day . You will be missed

To My First Love—My Dad
Words cannot express the void in my heart.
I saw you just that morning after Jayden’s soccer game. As always, you jumped up the moment you heard us open the door, your voice filled with joy: “Hello Jayden, how was soccer today? Did you score a goal?”
I walked in, greeted you with a gentle kiss like I always did. I never imagined that would be the last time.
The last kiss. The last time I’d hear you say, “Hello, darling.”
I am forever grateful for everything you taught me. Your guidance always led me down the right path. Your unwavering support gave me strength, and your love for Jayden was second to none.
You made us both feel cherished—with your gentle words, warm hugs, and endless affection.
I will miss you forever, Dad. Jayden will miss his Dada.
But we will never forget you. I promise to carry your legacy forward—to keep telling Jayden stories about your mischief, our trips to Sydney and Perth, and all the laughter we shared in between.
I miss you today, yesterday, and tomorrow and all the days since you feel asleep; — I will miss you for the rest of my life.
Until we meet again, Dad. With and abundance if Love, Light, Hugs and Kisses, from your little girl, Julie.
I will love you Forever & Always.
Charlotte Miller
My darling Dad,
I can’t believe you are no longer with us. My heart is broken, and my world feels empty without you.
I already miss the simple things – like walking through the door and asking, “Where’s Dad?”
And when I found you, our greeting was always the same: “Hi Dad.” – “Hello darling.” – followed by a tight hug and a gentle kiss.
I am so grateful that we spent your last day together with Mum – sharing lunch and a little flutter at the local club.
When I brought you home and we said goodbye, I never knew it would be our last hug, our last kiss, your last “bye darling” and my last “see you Pa.”
I have missed you every single day since, and I will miss you for the rest of my life.
I love you so deeply, Dad and I will love you always.
Until we meet again.
Rest peacefully now, Dad.

Douglas, I shall miss the chats we would have over a cuppa when ever Blossom and myself came across,
In 1984 (41 years ago) driving from Sydney to Melbourne post midnight, I closed my eyes for a fleeting moment and ran off the road exit the Hume highway onto the gravel with the Car about to roll over an embankment, when you shouted out loudly to me which awoke me and instantly and I had the presence of mind to turn the steering wheel fully to the right to avoid a roll over and crash into the base of this huge tree staring at us….. Thanks to You we survived to tell a story that we seldom discussed over the years as it was a traumatising incident for us but you were strong and held your composure and drove thereafter all the way to Melbourne non stop
Blossom and myself will miss you till we meet again.

Douglas,
Thank you for being such a wonderful grandfather to Ashleigh, and for welcoming me so warmly into your life. Your gentle spirit and down to earth nature were qualities I truly admired, and they left a lasting impression on me.
I’ll always remember the simple yet special moments like the time you gave me that tip for the horse named “What About Scotty” or how you gifted me miniature bottles of scotch for my growing collection. It’s memories like that which will stay with me forever.
Thank you for being such an amazing person. You touched the lives of those around you in quiet but meaningful ways, and you will be deeply missed. Rest In Peace

Douglas you lived a life full of love, kindness and joy. You were loved beyond words. Will miss you. Rest in Peace.

Dear Dada
Words cannot capture the thoughts and emotions that we have all felt this past week.
In the simplest way, the world no longer makes sense without you in it. In our family, there is now stillness and silence that we did not prepare for.
I wish I could tell you ‘I love you’ one last time. It hurts knowing those three words have now been replaced with ‘I miss you’ and ‘come back, please.’
Though I can no longer see you, I know I still carry you in my heart and hold tight our shared memories, like the advice you would give me before my runs and our Christmas Dart game.
Our family have gained a Guardian Angel in you.
Thank you for everything, Dada.
Love always, your Granddaughter
Ashleigh x

The shock of your passing still grips my heart, but your memory soothes the pain. As your sister, I’ll keep your spirit alive through my love and laughter. Rest in peace, my dearest brother; may the heavens embrace you warmly. Now your soul has found peace, but my heart still aches for you. May the stars light your path as you rest in eternal peace. Dear Uncle Douglas, we may never have met but my darling Mum Alma, your older sister, loved you very much. So happy you reached out this summer and that Penne and I were able to meet up in the UK with cousin Charlotte. She shared such lovely stories of you and the wonderful family you created in India & Australia. Although over 10,000 miles away, we bonded over FB messenger (thank you internet). Your love and goodness shone through every message. Little did we know you would be gone only a few weeks later. Thank you for your gift of love & family. I shall remember your kind soul forever. x Mandy

Doug you are a gentleman to the very letters of the word and the honour that envisages its meaning . You and Shirley were dearly loved and respected by my mum, Dulcie, and I am sure she is going to rope you in for a game of cards when you meet her. I have heard my mum speak highly of you and Shirley which has warranted my respect for you.
I cant begin to understand the pain and loss that
Shirley and your children will endure as you demonstrated “the family ” as long as I can remember from forty year ago. You presence will be missed by us all as you were a gift to humanity.
God bless you Doug and tell God to sprinkle his blessing on us all.
With much love to you and your family

To dearest Dougie, we are still finding it difficult to accept that you are no more. You were a beautiful husband, brother in law & father. We will never forget the amazing surprise you gave us by visiting us in India in the year 2005. We were thrilled to have you with us. We enjoyed our time together here in Kolkata. Here’s to all of life’s moments we got to cherish together even though they were brief, but they will always be unforgettable.
We take refuge in knowing that you are now in a better place, all at peace.
Fly high dearest brother in law, till we meet again. Safe in the arms of our Dear Lord.

Dearest Aunt Shirley, Charlotte, Mark, Nicki and Julie. I know your grief is insurmountable. Please know that I am thinking of you and praying for you.
I remember Uncle Douglas and Aunt Shirley in Calcutta. Both Aunt and Uncle along with Charlotte and Mark would never fail to visit my grandmother Vera who was Uncle Doug’s Aunt. After the family migrated to Australia, Uncle Doug kept in touch through letters and Christmas cards.
Every morning we would send each other a Good Morning message. I was extremely saddened to receive a message from uncle’s youngest daughter Julie informing me of uncle’s passing.
Rest in peace Uncle Douglas. You truly were a wonderful person, and I pray that God will reward you in Heaven.
Aunt Shirley, Charlotte, Mark, Nicki and Julie may the love and memories you shared bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Dada, life just isn’t the same without you here. Your infectious smile, cheeky giggle, and the way you’d greet me with “hello darling” followed by a big tight hug will stay with me forever.
Thank you for always listening to my stories, and for sharing yours in return – especially your City to Surf tales. I’ll never forget how you used to sneak Ashleigh and me pocket money every Saturday without Nana or Mum noticing. Those are the little moments I’ll cherish for life.
I love you, I miss you, always.

Rest peacefully, Uncle. When we meet again, we’ll run those 14kms together under 50 minutes.
Lots & Lots of Love,

Today we gather to say goodbye to my dad, but also to honour and celebrate his life.
Dad was many things to many people, a husband, a brother, a friend, but to me, he was simply my dad. The one who taught me the meaning of hard work, of doing the right thing, and of looking after the people you love.
He wasn’t a man of fuss or fanfare, but his actions spoke louder than any words could. Whether it was lending a hand, sharing a laugh, or just being there when you needed him, Dad gave generously of himself without ever expecting anything in return.
I will miss his wisdom, his humour, and his quiet strength. Most of all, I will miss just being able to sit with him, talk with him, and know he was there.
Though it hurts to say goodbye, I take comfort in knowing that his love, his lessons, and his examples will stay with me always. His life lives on in all of us who loved him.
Thank you Dad for everything. You’ll never be forgotten. Rest in peace. I love you.
Penne Cecil Hutton
We are so sorry for your loss. Condolences to all the family.
I was so happy to have corresponded with Uncle Douglas and to have met Charlotte when she was in England. Mum would have been happy that we met one of her little brother’s family.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
Sammy
To my dearest Uncle. You truly were so special and whenever your name was mentioned I had a big smile and warm heart. So kind, compassionate, loving and caring. Always thinking of others so selflessly.
My fondest memories are of growing up at Burwood, family gatherings at zbexley anmd our visits to Brighton beach. You would throw me up in the air and have me in fits of laughter. You are leaving a large hole in your family’s hearts but we take comfort knowing you are reunited with your loving parents, my Dad, Aunty Alma, Uncle Tony and Aunty Anne free from any pain- jiving, singing and laughing. Rest in Peace Uncle xx

Dear Dad,
I cannot believe it has been a year since you closed your eyes. A year since we saw you leave home for the last time. A year ago I heard your voice and hugged you not knowing it would be the last. I miss you every day and will for the rest of my life. You will always be a part of me and with me as I continue to move forward without you physically being here with us. I love you Dad. Rest in Peace in God’s care.
Nicki Miller
Dad ~ the other day, we visited you as a family on the first anniversary of your passing into Gods care. Even to this day, we celebrate every moment together as a family unit. We live every day, ‘one day at a time’, knowing that you watch over us.
Mum and I visit every weekend, with a colourful bunch of flowers and we always smile, thinking about what you’d be telling us. “You don’t need to visit every week, Darling. Once is enough. You can go shopping.”
I miss you and love you very much, and wish you were here so I can tell you in person.
Love you Dad.
