Service will commence at 11am.

Following Josh's service, everyone is welcome to stay for refreshments
where we will continue sharing memories of Josh.

I am overseas at the moment so am unfortunately not able to attend the service for Josh. As a primary school teacher at Ferny Creek PS I taught Josh in grade 5 and also this year in grade 6. I was his teacher!
He was a pleasure to teach, and a gifted student. He loved to read, was a great writer and speller and possessed a wonderful vocabulary, well beyond his years.
He got along well with his teachers and the other students and always played an active role in the class. He was always willing to share his thoughts and opinions with others, and he had a great general knowledge of the world.
I will miss his input at our weekly Monday morning check ins where Josh always had plenty to say and report, as you can imagine. He often described how he was able to try and outfox his parents to get more gaming time, described the various family functions he attended, talked about attending Hawthorn games or Dr Who memorabilia events and how he wanted to visit Greece.
Josh was a great student to have in the class and a nice boy – I liked him a lot. I will miss seeing his happy face when I open the classroom doors in the morning and also miss his enthusiasm for learning.
It was a pleasure being his teacher.

Dear Ryan and Stacey,
I’m sorry I never met Josh, but I do know how much he was loved, and the many happy memories you made with him will live forever. I will miss hearing some of them on Friday, but wish you all the love in the world.

We are so sad to hear if your loss. Josh was a shining light to all who had the privilege of meeting him, his friendship was true and he was a joy to be around. His two years with us at Upwey Preschool were special for us all. Wishing you love and strength as you move through this tragic time.
