Mick (Gil) Potter
19/07/1925 - 7/06/2021
A very kind hard working father who was loved by many.
Dad you certainly left your mark on the South Belgrave Community.
Will miss not having you around to talk about the football
and all the other day to day things we did.
I feel at peace knowing you lived a good life,
you were ready to go and be reunited with Violet (Vi) and Coral.
You have left a huge legacy. Miss you dearly.
Love always.

Gil’s legacy is boundless. Exemplary tolerance and equanimity. My fave: after the Christchurch massacre, at mosque Open Day he marches up with “I’m so sorry”

Mick, such a marvelous man. Drove me to market learning to drive the truck when I was 18. So many fabulous memories of his great journey. So much respect. 🍎

Mick, the ten years since Vi departed were so hard for you, and then the passing of Coral. I don’t know how you did it but you pushed on for another 27 months, without your eldest daughter. I admired your strength in rising each day to do your early morning walks of the town you so loved, until your body got too frail.
Rest easy Mick, you’ve given your words of wisdom to so many and we’ve all learnt by them.

Blessed to have had the honour to have met you on several occasions.
We know you will be very sadly missed, especially by Glenda and John.
We hope that you are resting peacefully with Vi and Coral.
