Phyllis was one of the most intelligent, cultured, and elegant people I ever met. A warm and compassionate lady, she was also down-to-earth, directing a witty comment and wry smile to her son Sean and his schoolmates as we got up to the usual teenage antics. I loved and will always remember the way Phyllis encouraged my intellectual development, discussing ideas and recommending books to read. I wish I’d seen more of her in recent years. She will be sadly missed. My thoughts are with Sean and Liz, Jessica, Holly, James, and Charli, and David and his family.

A beautiful celebration of a beautiful lady’s life.
Time will never dull the loving memories I have of Phyllis. A gracious, clever, quick witted and generous lady. I have never known anyone with such a brilliantly wicked sense of humour and so many great life stories.
My early years in Australia were joyous by the welcoming, kindness and love shown to me by Phyllis and Jim.
James, your grandma would be enormously proud of your heartfelt, loving and grammatically correct tribute. She brought immense joy into lives of so many.
My condolences to family and friends at this incredibly sad time but in the words of the great lady herself, “Don’t forget to laugh”.
Love,
Bill
