Uncle Mel was always there for his sister Norma &her 3 girls Colleen Raelene & Karyn, even when he had his own family. He was the most unselfish man. Sending condolences to Auntie Edna Terry Leanne & all the grandchildren.

The Matic Family were next door neighbours to the Wangman Family and Terry and I were very close friends who went to Primary School and High School together. I have many fond memories of those days and of Mel. He would drive Terry and myself to Soccer matches around town, in his Valiant, a gold coloured one I believe. He, along with Terry, took me to my first ever AFL (VFL back then) game. It was the Mighty Tigers VS the Mighty Saints, and it was one of best experiences ever. The Tigers winning helped of course. I remember thinking what a good man Mel was back then, doing these things for us kids. There are many other great things that he did for us. I moved away from Noble Park and Melbourne a long time ago, but I have never forgotten those awesome, wonderful times. Please accept my best wishes and sincere condolences on this sad occasion. Yours sincerely, Sava Matic.

Many thanks for your kind words Sava. They were indeed wonderful times we shared together with Dad at Keyborough soccer club in the Valiant Ranger – going out to Fawkner and Keilor, or down to Seaford, to name a few of the soccer teams we came up against!

Growing up in the 70s, the Wangmans were like my second family. I have great memories of Mel driving us to the tennis at Kooyong, summer holidays at Dromana, games of table tennis in the garage and he also taught me to play the piano. Always a positive, good humoured and community minded person, looking out for people who needed help. Love to the family….Anja

I was fortunate enough to meet Mel some years ago and to share some great musical memories with him at many venues around Melbourne. I will miss those times playing music with him particularly in the Ballroom Dancing scene -(We called them “The Good Times”). A most generous and caring gentleman.
Sincere Condolences to Edna and the family.

Thank you Peter. It was great spending some time with you yesterday at Dad’s farewell. Dad valued your friendship greatly and always enjoyed the many gigs you did together. I’ll sign-off the way Dad would have – Love to Val.

So sorry to hear the loss of a wonderful man Melville was to his family and friends, very touched by the good things he had done in his life considering his passing of his parents at such a young age . My deepest condolences to all the family. I recently lost my brother Leslie Wangman and was in Wonthaggi (Victoria)for his funeral 19/08/23 and was told by my aunt Valda Wangman my dad’s (Raymond Wangman)sister of the passing of Melville so I watched the live stream of his funeral. Was just wondering if he was a raised by my great aunt Elsa which is my grandfathers Allan Wangman’s sister? My condolences 💐 Kerrie (Wangman) Storti
